Meet the Team

An Academic advisor is assigned to each undergraduate business student based on the first two letters of their last name (see the letters in parenthesis next to the advisor’s name).

Dr. Margaret Lucero

Dr. Margaret Lucero, Dr. Margaret Lucero, Professor of Management and Associate Dean of the College of Business, joined the University in 2002. Dr. Lucero received a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Utah, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Management from the University of Houston. In addition to her role as Associate Dean, Dr. Lucero teaches social entrepreneurship and various management courses. Her research includes numerous publications in areas that include employee discipline issues, as well as, workplace violence, aggression, and sexual harassment.

Katharine Fischer

Ms. Katharine Stokes (Oc – Z), Academic Advisor with the College of Business since 2002 and advise all business majors.  I’ve worked on campus in other capacities since 1996 and hold a BBA in General Business, MBA and MS in Educational Technology degrees from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.  My hobbies include traveling, spending time with my dogs and Country music and dancing.  Please feel free to contact me at

Elizabeth Palacios

Ms. Elizabeth “Liz” Palacios (Gp – Oc), Academic Advisor, joined the College of Business in 2004. She received a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Liz advises all business majors and represents the College of Business in a number of college and University committees. Janie Pena

Ms. Juanita “Janie” Peña, Administrative Assistant, joined the College of Business in 2013. Janie assists Dr. Lucero and the advisors with general administrative support, gives students general information and is in charge of scheduling appointments for the advisors. Janie can be reached at

Albert Royo

Mr. Alberto “Albert” Royo (A –Go), Senior Academic Advisor, joined the College of Business in 1994. He received a B.B.A in General Business from Corpus Christi State University (now Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi). Albert manages the Undergraduate Advising Center and advises all business majors. He represents the College of Business on a number of college and university committees. Outside of the office, Albert enjoys watching sports (soccer in particular), traveling, listening to music, movies and playing the guitar. Albert can be reached at
